Track your skills and make your mark in open education.

As a resource sharing community, SHMS relies on the expertise of its members in order to thrive. Now you can identify this expertise in other users using SHMS Badges. To let the world know your strengths, earn one or more yourself. Badges are a way to track progress, to signify knowledge and to foster connections between users, all of which are critical to advancing open education.

SHMS Badges

Contributor

Earned by users who submit OER resources to SHMS. Points and badges are awarded after the content has been reviewed and approved for inclusion in SHMS by our Digital librarians. Each approved Contribution is worth 10 points.
Evaluator

Use the Achieve Rubric Tool to evaluate resources and receive a SHMS Evaluator Badge. You receive 1 evaluation point for each completed Evaluation. In order to calculate your points, an assessment must be saved on each Rubric, and the evaluation must be finalized.
Author

Use Open Author to create new OER on SHMS. Each time that you publish an Open Author Resource, you receive 50 points.
Remixer

Use Open Author to Remix resources and personalize them for your teaching and learning needs on SHMS. Each published Remix is worth 10 points.
Translator

Use Open Author to translate OER from English to Arabic on SHMS. Each Translation is worth 10 points.ss
Collaborator

Be an active Collaborator by commenting on OER and participating in discussion groups on SHMS. Each Comment is worth 10 points.
Arabic Promoter

Promote Arabic OER by publishing Arabic content on SHMS using Open Author. Every time you author content in Arabic, you will receive 25 points.
Academy

Participate in SHMS Training Academy to earn Academy Badges. Completing the Basic training earns you 100 points, completing the Specialist training earns you 500 points, and completing the Professional training earns you 1000 points.
K-12 Institution

Compete with other K-12 Institutions by supporting your group members in their efforts to earn the highest number of badges. For each sum of 100 badges within your group, you will earn 100 points.
Higher Ed Institution

Compete with other Higher Education Institutions by supporting your group members in their efforts to earn the highest number of badges. For each sum of 100 badges within your group, you will earn 100 points.
Lifelong Learning Institution

Compete with other Lifelong Learning Institutions by supporting your group members in their efforts to earn the highest number of badges. For each sum of 100 badges within your group, you will earn 100 points.
