In his groundbreaking publication, Border Matters Saldívar examines the way in which borderland authors construct literary space in order to represent cultural encounters. He suggests that the border represents an ideological divide between two nations and is a "primary agent" of difference (xii). To develop this idea this dissertation works with the notion of border as a form of metaphysical crossing point – between nations and between human experiences.

Oestrus ovis Linnaeus 1761 (Diptera : Oestridae) is the almost cosmopolitan and well known myiasis causing dipterous insect species which affects the health of sheep and goats in many parts of the world. The parasitic phase of Oestrus ovis begins after adult females deposit the 1st larval instar into the nostrils of hosts; these larvae develop into the 2nd and 3rd larval instars in the nasopharyngeal cavities and frontal sinuses.

ACTIVE BELITE β-C2S AND THE HYDRATION OF CALCIUM SULFOALUMINATES PREPARED FROM NANO-MATERIALS

The aim of the present work is to study the effect of active belite on the hydration of C4A3S̅ and C4AS̅. The results revealed that
the active β-C2S prevents the formation of crystalline ettringite and monosulfate hydrate as detected from the results of XRD.
On the other side, the sulfoaluminate hydrates such as AFt and AFm were detected by using DSC technique. Gismondine
C4Al8Si8O32·16H is formed from the reaction of β-C2S or CSH with the liberated Al(OH)3 from the hydration of C4A3S̅. This
phase was not detected with the other monosulfate mix C4AS̅. This is mainly due to the absence of AH3 during the hydration
of C4AS̅. The results of XRD patterns are in good agreement with those obtained from DSC thermograms

Activated and Nonactivated Date Pits Adsorbents for the Removal of Copper(II) and Cadmium(II) from Aqueous Solutions

The present study aims to investigate the adsorption behavior of Cu(II) and Cd(II) ions from wastewater onto low-cost adsorbents either raw date pits (RDP), cheap agricultural and nontoxic materials, or chemically activated carbon (ADP) prepared by modified date pits using phosphoric acid. A series of experiments were conducted in a batch system to evaluate the effect of system variables. The adsorption process is affected by various parameters such as solution pH, contact time, initial concentrations of metals, and adsorbent dose. The optimum pH required for maximum adsorption was found to be 5.8±0.5. The experimental data were tested using Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm equations. It was observed that the adsorption capacity of date pits increased after treatment with phosphoric acid. The maximum uptake capacities (Qm) were 7.40 and 33.44 mg copper(II) per gram of RDP and ADP. respectively, while 6.02 and 17.24 mg cadmium(II) per gram of RDP and ADP. .

Your personal history feeds your reactions to anger. That's why some people react so angrily to certain situations, like losing a parking space, while others take it in stride. You may have built up years of feeling unheard, ignored, sad, frustrated or disrespected.
Anger cannot always be avoided; however, you can control how you deal with it.

Use case diagrams are an excellent tool for capturing and analyzing the functional requirements of a system under development. Context-aware use case diagrams are an extension of use case diagrams to cater for both the functional requirements and the context-awareness requirements of context-aware and pervasive systems. They provide (graphical) notations for specifying, visualizing and documenting the intended behavior of a context-aware system at an early stage of the system development life-cycle. This paper proposes an approach to analyzing context-aware use case diagrams usind a Calculus of Context-aware Ambients (CCA). An algorithm is proposed that translates a context-aware use case diagram into a CCA process. This process can then be analyzed using the CCA tools such as the simulator ccaPL which enables the execution of CCA processes and the model-checker ccaSPIN that can check automatically whether a CCA process satisfies a desired property, e.g. deadlock freedom and reachability. The proposed approach is evaluated using a real-word example of a context-aware pedestrian collision avoidance system.
